GEM Mobile Treatment Services Receives Two Safety Awards

GEM Mobile Treatment Services was recognized for two Safety Awards by the Industrial Safety Training Council of Southeast Texas (ISTC) at their annual banquet held on May 10, 2012. The Industrial Safety Training Council is a non-profit training and education organization that has a comprehensive safety awards program, developed by the Association’s Curriculum and Program Committee, to promote contractor safety and accident prevention in the petroleum, refining and petrochemical manufacturing industries and related services. With a location in Baytown, Texas and Corporate offices in Nederland, Texas, ISTC delivers safety training and site specific job safety orientations to contractors, as well as the employees of 42 local Refining and Chemical plants.

GEM’s first award was for having worked seven years without an OSHA lost workday case involving days away from work. The second award was for having sustained a “zero” recordable incidence rate for three consecutive years.

“We are very proud of our Gulf-based team” commented Larry Prahin, GEM Gulf Coast General Manager. “These awards validate that our daily emphasis on safe work practices truly pays off. We owe special thanks the GEM Safety & Compliance department managed by Brandon Denbow and Pam Patterson, who go above and beyond to ensure our staff is well versed in safety”.

On hand to accept the awards were Blaine Nix, GEM Gulf Operations Manager; Brandon Denbow, HS&E Manager; Pam Patterson, DOT Compliance Specialist and Earnest Nabors, Golden Triangle Account Manager.
